Glutathione

Glutathione is a tripeptide composed of glutamate, cysteine, and glycine, studied as one of the body’s primary antioxidant systems. It helps regulate oxidative stress, detoxification pathways, redox balance, immune response, and cellular protection. In research settings, glutathione is examined in relation to liver function, mitochondrial health, inflammation, skin biology, and aging-related oxidative damage. Because oxidative stress affects many tissues, glutathione is relevant across metabolic, neurological, immune, and dermatological research. It is not typically viewed as a signaling peptide like GLP-1 or BPC-157, but as a core cellular defense molecule.
